Instagram is an image and video-sharing social networking website developed by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in 2010 in San Francisco, California. Facebook Inc. purchased the service in April 2012 for nearly US$1 billion in cash and shares, according to public filings. Users may post images and videos, which can then be modified with filters and arranged using hashtags and geotagging to create a personalized feed. Posts may be shared with the general public or with pre-approved followers. Users may explore other users’ material by categories and locations and examine stuff that is currently trending. In addition, users may like photographs and follow other users to add their material to a personal feed, which is shown to them.
When Instagram first launched, it differentiated itself by only allowing the material to be framed in a square (1:1) aspect ratio of 640 pixels, which corresponded to the width of the display on the iPhone at the time. Instagram Reels is a brand new Instagram feature that allows users to make 15-second video clips set to music and publish them to their Stories, Explore Feed, and the new Reels page on their profile. Instagram Reels is still in beta. TikTok-style videos are accessible on Reels, which is the latest video feature on Instagram, and it is now available in the United States and 50 other countries. Instagram Reels now has its version of the For You page, which is called the Reels Explore Feed, similar to the For You page. The Reels Instagram feed may be found on the Instagram Explore Page.
